Our Story

BestBalls Australia was born from a simple frustration that every sports enthusiast knows all too well: standing in a store (or scrolling endlessly online) surrounded by dozens of options, with no idea which ball is actually right for your needs. We've been there countless times ourselves—grabbing a cricket ball off the shelf only to discover during nets that the seam doesn't hold up, or investing in a premium AFL football that turns out to be overkill for backyard kick-to-kick sessions.

Our founding team came together in Melbourne during the 2023-24 summer cricket season. What started as casual conversations about gear at Saturday morning matches evolved into something more purposeful. Between us, we'd accumulated decades of experience across cricket, AFL, soccer, tennis, basketball, rugby, and golf—not as professionals, but as dedicated club-level players who genuinely understand what weekend warriors need from their equipment.

James, our cricket specialist, has been opening the batting for his local club in the Eastern Cricket Association for over fifteen years. He's broken in more Kookaburras than he can count and knows exactly why seam position matters for swing bowling.
